"East of Eden" I like the idea of the reversed chord progression.
The whole Satan angle is good but it can also be read as someone
just being in a bad relationship or an adulterous one. Either way it
still as the other as subtext.

I think I found my first choice for next week as I already have
some ideas.

"The Day th Earth Stood Still" "In the public, you can look like a superhero (You think you can save the world; You think you'll set them free) Interesting insight, that's pretty close to what was in my mind at the time. It was actually based on a political activist I know who spent most of his time trying to save the world to the determent of his marriage.
The verse reads well and someone could easily take this one down a darker route (Im thinking blackmail here) if they wanted to.

I tried one trick I use sometimes that seemed to work which is I played your chorus chord progression (or near to it Bm7 E A F#m) in reverse to use for the verse chord progression....so the verse is F#m A E Bm7
