whenever i hear "Jolene, Jolene" , I can't help hearing that Dolly Parton song
Yes, I took this to be a follow up song after Dolly Parton's "Jolene". Jolene didn't heed Dolly's warning and this is the mess that followed
What sort of production / recording software are you using and how long does it take to put together a track like that?
I use Sonar 8.5...It takes me about 5-10 hours depending on how far the song is written before I start recording. Sometimes I start recording with the song all sketched out. Other times I start off with bits and pieces.
I am just using a zoom H2 to record and then cleaning it up a bit in audacity. Grateful for any tips on improving that
That's fine.

I'd say start where you are comfortable then look for the next step when you feel limited. My productions have evolved over the past 2 years with SSG.

If you listen back to my first posts in Year 7, I used the Sound Recorder in Windows. Then tried Audacity (I wanted multi-tracks)...moved up to...Guitar Tracks (I wanted more guitar effects)......then Music Creator (A smaller program that kept crashing)....then Sonar (I wanted to work with midi, drums and synth sounds).

My suggestion is read up on what's out there as far as software, check out some forums, see what you feel comfortable trying and have fun with it. If you have some specific questions, I can try to help out

Thanks again for the listen and post :D

James
