Hi GrungeSunset,
I get the feeling that the chorus's are to be chanted which also fits with James' idea about a congregation or group. The verses then lend themselves to a solo voice accompanied by an acoustic guitar maybe. Given that, I think verse 2 would benefit from the same structure as verse 1 i.e. two parts of three lines, and for my money verse two could be a little more hard hitting with maybe some more allusions to its spirituality like the following 2 lines. We worship the sun
Its life never ending.
This song has great potential, well done
Cheers
Paul

As each holiday comes up I'm always curious of the origins of them. As we all know Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. However, it is not known when he was born. There are many theories my song is based on dec 25th being the Roman winter solstice. As the days begin to get longer they celebrate the sun god, Sol Invictus. So here it is, a Christmas carol Pagan style.

The sun shines it's light
And gives us life.
It shines for the faithful
And for the righteous.
It is the supreme astral body
And Sun of Justice.
Sol Invictus.

The dawn is breaking
And light shines on the empire.
We celebrate and the games begin.

We honor Sol during the solstice.
When its days start to get longer.
And its rays start to get stronger

The sun shines it's light
And gives us life.
It shines for the faithful
And for the righteous.
It is the supreme astral body
And Sun of Justice.
Sol Invictus.

We have our festival
When we see the night ending.
We worship the sun
Its life never ending.

The sun shines it's light
And gives us life.
It shines for the faithful
And for the righteous.
It is the supreme astral body
And Sun of Justice.
Sol Invictus

Sol Invictus.
Sol Invictus.
Sol Invictus.
Sol Invictus.....
