.. Reminds me of when my six-year-old daughter brought a mangy, horrible mongrel home exactly!

I like these lines a lot :D

You gave me a new idea to try....I like your pattern of diving deeper into the details....I think my tendency is to try to paint the big picture and capture a novel in a song.....but you seem to highlight the details of a moment which, for me at least, creates intimacy.
