Yummy!

Your right Vic, Bowie DID record TLG. I'm not going to fall into that trap...I have my reputation to think of. As for early Pink Floyd - Maybe Syd could make something of it - he usually could!

Thanks for the ideas on the chorus David. I was trying to be a bit clever and get some 'recording' references into it somewhere (and of course analogue, not digital) so I used chop and slice (as in cutting the tape) and cut and mix is now self-explanatory...

I hope to visit SSG again soon - it takes so long to get back into the song-writing groove when you've been away for a while.

Rock on all!
D 8)

Hi Dylan

Good to see you again and I hope that the New Year is treating you well thus far.

I like the title as it stands, it drives home the last line of the chorus, which is a lot of fun. And loved the verse about oranges, by the way. Made me laugh out loud!

My only suggestion would be in the third line of the chorus. I like the way it already contains an internal rhyme carried over from the end of the second line and, at the risk of overdoing it, I'd suggest extending it a little more:

Why waste your songs on love and life
Write a song without the death and strife...or the wife
Chop and dice yourself a slice a medley of sweet salad
And write yourself a fruitylicious ballad

That may not work with the melody you've got in mind. But it might.

Anyway, great to see you again and hope you make more trips to the SSG this year. You're always welcome and I always look forward to reading more from you.

Peace
