Nice story telling and personal application of the idea. :D

Suggestion:

Consider replacing the pronoun "her" with "wife" or "lover" or something else from the next verse. When "her" comes after the birds line, it read like you were kissing the bird......

....or maybe put her name in the song....adds a nice personal touch as well....intimate. :wink: Depending on the number of syllable in her name or "pet name" of course :P

Softly “Eureka”

The song writing assignments came Saturday morning and the song had to be presented Sunday morning. So I took this to be my week 24 assignment.

John Lamb assigned each participant a topic based on a 3 question interview. My assignment was to write about a current domestic issue. Mrs Worm has not been too happy with some of my compositions that are fictional but focus on bad relationships. Also , I was to work in an aspect about a book, movie or other story that I was familiar with. I selected a TV series that I have been watching lately "Eureka".

I'll try to get a recording up in the next few days.

Archimedes discovered a long time ago
When he stepped in the tub, the water rose
He ran through the streets of Syracuse
Naked, crying “Eureka”

Shocking the neighbors was not his intention
His finding led to many inventions
This experiment was unique
And led to his crying “Eureka”

Many generations have passed
Any many a genius has taken a bath
In hopes of solving a problem oblique
In a moment of “Eureka”

Two thousand years later on the birthday of moi
A surprise trip to Dubuque, Iowa
A song writing workshop at the end of the week
