I like the song, I just wonder whether you actually need to repeat the first verse as a chorus...if you were going to repeat it, it might have more impact at the end....

The clover-leaf line I'm not too sure about - never thought of a clover leaf as saving souls....maybe something like "amulets and charms" might work better....it'd tie in a little better with the voodoo motif as well....

Yes Scratch I thought of the Crossroads angle when I was writing
this and also something about Hellhounds On My Trail but felt they
were both a little heavy handed. So instead of borrowing from Mr.
Johnson I made up my own Voodoo Queen. As it stands right now
this is leaning towards the Sonny Terry style but I may try it in a
more delta slide mode sometime.

I can definitely hear this in Sonny Terry, or John Lee Hooker's voice! Real well done. I'm a sucker for Delta-soundin' blues anyways, but this is good.

I mighta swapped "the crossroads" for Madame Lorraine, just to throw another superstitious reference in, but I think either one works. Madame Lorraine has that superstitious element as well, -- a N'Orleans voo-doo queen -- sewing up mojos for folks.
