Hi Ben,

I've had a chance to listen now. I really like the music. Nice job on the playing and singing 8)

Suggestion: Consider getting a "hook" in the song; preferably one with the title. As it is now, it doesn't seem to have found a direction... I think you have a lot of possibilities, but need to choose one direction to head into. With the contrasting self-description of the character, it reminds me of Meredith Brooks' song
http://www.lyrics007.com/Meredith%20Brooks%20Lyrics/Bitch%20Lyrics.html
....and that's a good thing

Also, there seems to be a conflict in the lyrics where the title is saying "finding my way". For me, this indicates somewhat of a search or quest, but then the word you hold out the longest "maintain" seems to imply staying put or keeping the status quo...not a forward movement or quest.

So in all, musically I like it a lot and lyrically it's a good start but could use a bit of focus on a message or idea.

Thanks for sharing :D

James

Love the acoustic riff , the vocals are (apart from a couple of tiny timing issues, which happens a lot when you're recording a song you've only just written, and haven't had time to practise thoroughly) pretty much spot on, and oh lord, I wish I could hold a note like you............... maintaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain.....great stuff!

Seems to me, though, it's crying out for a solo between the two verses and the conclusion....I'd love to let Slash loose there and say "let 'er rip!" even though the song feels a little more Nirvana influenced than heavy rock.

Definitely a.....

:D :D :D :D :D

Vic
