Hey Jay,

The lyrics gravitate towards a poetic feel which seems to work with the song title.....Are you sure this isn't a seen from Gossip Girl? ...just kidding...still haven't watched any and don't plan to

Suggestion:
Try to run a movie director's perspective as you go through the song. It seems like the title "Reminding me of you" is something that would be a thought as to someone from the person's past or said in a letter or over the phone...but the first verses, the singer is asking the singee to go for a walk......to do what?.....reminisce of the past?.....or remember mutual friends that died?

"And those that we have lost they gather
On the waters edge, mingling in the waves
They sing to me"

I sense you might have an idea worked out. Consider dropping a couple more dots for the listener to connect

James

You've captured the film noir atmosphere I was looking for nicely, and that's the main thing. Look forward to reading more from you!

:D :D :D

Vic

That's ok...if it helps, I've never watched the show....that was just a link I came across when I was googling about the phone conversation assignment.....I am kind of "off" tv as it says in the Bible "no one can serve two masters" so I am serving the songwriting gods for now...I am sure the tv gods are not happy but what's one less worshiper  ....except for a brief drop in to satisfy the family movie time....which they are calling me in to watch "Stardust" right now....I hope it's kid friendly.

I'll have to check the other lyrics later...

James

 assignments, Jay ASSIGNMENTS :!:

Good start. :D I can't tell if I like the line "you suck up all my air"...but it is memorable so I'd leave it in for now...

Ok. I can't figure out the movie, but I am not too surprised as I have limited exposure to this genre....is it "Kill Bill"?

Suggestion:
Might just bring you down
To me
One idea I head about phrasing is that melodic phrases and spoken phrases should mirror each other. Unless you are using it for an effect like this line "I never should have let you....let me go" from Gossip Girl
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lADswYM8ps

Here is a great video online about phrasing worth checking out:
http://www.berkleemusic.com/welcome/pattison_clinic‏

James

PS
I listened to "Reminding me of you"....sounds like a good start as well. Consider posting the lyrics on your soundclick page for more critique but no need if you were just posting it to share.
