People of the Bass forum...

Um, I am completely new to any form of Guitar... yes, the only stringed instrument I have played is floss...

Now, I have, however, some luck in the bass, in different instruments. I use to play Trombone, and vocally I am a baritone. So bass is nothing new to me.  Guitars and how to start on them is a completely different story.

Would their be anyone willing enough to take a new-new-new-newbie under their wing and kind of be a somewhat mentor and open to the ever-inevitable stupid questions that I must ask in searching for, and buying, and playing, and figureing out the bass guitar?  Like what styles their are... what guitar is best for a beginner... such as those... :) Any emails or replies to this would be extremely thanked! Ok... later!

Start with James "Wheat" Martin's completely free, on-line Bass Book.

It contains everything a bass player needs to know up to about the intermediate level.

This site right here contains several useful articles on bass playing in the Guitarnoise Bass Section.

I hope this helps.  Welcome to Guitarnoise.

I think there are lots of people here that would be willing to help you out.  If you have a question, ask.  The only way to learn is to ask and play.  Look at some of the older forums first, though.  There is good material there.

It is a small world for metal fanatics. I welcome you fellow musicians, especially the metalheads!
