Well, I've already broken my self-imposed moratorium in trying new songs. I've started playing with Revolution 1, Lady Madonna and Instant Karma. My other ones still need work, so I doubt I really should add much more to my
plate now. But these are really simple. The thing is that I've learned a few more things about playing by doing this. I've been having fun with blues shuffles and working in barre chords, and power chords. And even figuring out why some internet sheets I've found suck.
Yes, I hear you about the book stuff. I've tried it, and as I said, I don't seem to retain it without talking about it and relating it to things I am actually doing. That's one of the reasons I'm one of those people who can get only so far in trying to learn on his own. And the biggest reason I went back to lessons after a 10 month hiatus. I got only so far before getting frustrated. Sitting knee-to-knee is one of the best things you can do, in my opinion.
