Cash is cool
i personally think fenders are very good bang for your buck, but their are other very good competetors like art & lutherie, and alvarez. I dont have much experiance with the model, i just know fenders not up there with martin & taylor but they are very good for the money.

Tim, I'm a big fan of the DG-22s and 25s as great value guitars. I'm not sure what the difference is with the 21. But if it's in the same league as the other two, you got a fine guitar.
I just got a DG20 with the cutaway and all that. It's currently being set up cos I'm afraid to mess it up. I also have a Martin, and the Fender is definitely not as good as the Martin, but I like it. Sounds nice (kinda percussive i think). For a beginner, it's more than adequate. For me, an intermediate, it makes a great second guitar for alternate tunings or to gig with. (I hate slapping a promag in my martin, so the EQ and piezo in the Fender have me quite happy for future performances).
I think it's a good choice, but make sure you check it out in person first.
