Hi, I purchased a James Taylor Guitar tab book, just so in know i'm learning the song correctly. I have been working on carolina on my mind, but it never seems to sound like it should. I was wonder if anyone else has had this problem and if there are any tips to make it sound reasonable. Thanks for anything.

What about it doesn't sound right? When learning a song, if the timing is off, it won't sound right (or even recognizable)...even if everything else is right.

I don't know if it's my ear or not, but I have a smooth slow rythem which is consistent with the part I've learned thus far. But it sounds wrong. Also something else I was wondering if there is any good place or book to learn to read music for the guitar. Thanks.

I could be wrong, but try a capo on the 3rd fret. Are you playing it in G?
