I have been playing chords and arpeggios for a few months and although I can get my three fingers to pick the E,B,G strings while using the thumb for base notes I can't say it sounded good, nor did I feel in control. I can best describe the feeling that you push off down a steep slope and rush to the bottom hoping that all went well on the way.
I sort of set my fingers in motion and hoped they would play the strings before the next note where my thumb hit the base string. Typically this would be easy songs like scarborough fair and Wonderful Tonight.
But this week, all of a sudden I feel I have control of the fingers and can time them with the beat - it feels so good - I love it.. Opens up many other possibilities..
Got to celebrate every advance you make I think. Hope the above makes sense.

Congratulations.

It's been great to follow your progress over the last year. When is your next trip to the States?
Keep having fun!

Thanks guys
My next trip to the US - sometime this year I suspect, but depends upon business and no plans as yet.
I am trying to encourage my managers to go and see customers, it gives them good experience and confidence.
When I do go I want to try and get a left handed strat. Currently I play the Steinberger a lot and love the action. But thought I would try a strat next... I have a Jay Turser Tele clone, but don't play it much. Thought I would find a shop that had a good stock of LH guitars. Saving my dollars for when I go.
