Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth
OK, I know David's covered this in the easy song lessons....and yes, you can do this with just two chords, but you can do it just as well with four....so why not add a little flesh to the bones? And they're all simple chords....all open chords, close to the nut....
Intro....

(strum the first chord loudly, with a downstroke, then U/U/D/D/U.....sounds weird, but trust me, it works....then hit the A chord and let it ring....and repeat all the way throught the verses....)

This is great! Fills the song out a bit and adds some flavor.
You know, it's funny...I've been able to play pieces of things and some simple riffs here and there since I was about 12...I just sort of figured them out on my mom's acoustic back then. When I decided to *learn* how to play at age 31, I couldn't even do this song properly without screwing it up somehow. :lol:
It's the little things like this that have really helped me leap forward over the last year. Just goes to show how even a simple (to me now, anyway) song like this can be used by itself as a springboard for more learning.
Nice job Vic, just wanted to let you know that your efforts are appreciated :)

Will it be posted here soon? There's that little fill that accompanies the main riff that's driving me crazy. Can't quite get it.

Yes, natural harmonics. There's more to that fill, I just haven't had time to go back and listen to the song. I do recall the natural harmonics going on from start to finish however.
