Anyone Use A Digidesign C-24???

WHAT a bleedin' hassle this setup is...over a week and STILL sorting it out.

The mac as well as the C-24 came with the correct Ozzy voltage but they put in USA leads with USA plugs. Okay...we managed to salvage some from other equipment.

The C-24 is factory-set to default to "nothing" unless you set it up just right...like the preamps on it. (What a freakin' pain in the netherregions THIS is!!! I mean...at 59 I'm FINALLY losing my hair and teeth in self-imposed frustration!) We used a Shure 58 to make some noise to see where it ended up. You know...chase the signal around section by section and fixing things as you go. Tiny, tiny, tiny sound. My guitar (Ibanez) had no sound unless I clicked onto the powered EQ output and that's noisy and dirty...opposite from an amp and a guitar known for it's golden throat. The Moog "Little Phatty" key synth...nothing from the output...but a little from the headphone output if you try to sample it from there. Okay...the In/Out module for the C-24 needs to be recalibrated. You usually call this thing a Patch Bay...sort of like an old fashioned phone operator's unit where you call...they answer...and then replug your call somewhere else in their board. This thing is electronically switched...for In going to Out (any number or combo). Again...defaults are needing to be reset. But, Holy Moley...there's 192 of 'em!!!!!!!! The setup came with a CRATE (no...not a box...a freakin' CRATE!) of wiring!

Oh, yeah...forget to mention...the two plasmas screens on the ProMac...has only one side working...they gave us (again) the wrong cable.

Oh, I just found out...that the grid won't power this much amperage if someone switches on something else in the house! No sweat...I'm using a 5000 watt genset out the window...which is awful loud and imposing...so now I'm assembling and then hooking up a 40 metre long extionsion cord BEFORE I get back to looking for my pistol!!!

We're still trying to get the preamps up so at least I can plug the six string through the board: NOPE!
