Genie in a bottle (by Aguleria) - 3/4 ??
Its gonna be me (N'sync) - 3/4 or 2/2 ??
I got a women (Ray charles) - 2/2 or 4/4 ??
I am blue (Effiel 65 ) - 2/2 or 4/4 ?
Ok ,well, i have many more to ask but let do with these first
Thanks ,
Rahul
I've never heard the Ray Charles song, the others I believe are in 4/4.
99% of popular music is in 4/4, with pretty much the remainder being in 3/4 or 6/8.
When your listening to a song, listen for the drum beats, they're generally your give away. For experience listening to 3/4, put on some waltz music, which tends to mostly (Always?) be in 3/4.
As far as modern songs in 3/4... the one that comes to my mind is "GSF" by MxPx. Actually, I think it's in 6/8, but it can help you get the feeling down.
Do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life...
2/2 isn't really a popular time signature, but i have seen it and similar signatures in flamenco music, so most of the the time if you think it's 2/2 it will probably be in 4/4 time.

2/2 actually is pretty common... but you usually see it as a C with a line through it ("cut time").
