I've reworked it following alex's barrage of abuse ( ;D ). I think (hope) it makes everything much clearer.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

I stand corrected on diatonic (thanks, Serickso -- I don't speak any Greek, and the earliest theory I recall reading is Boethius). The Harvard Dictionary of Music gives the translation as "through the tones".

I've only read very little of Boethius but I'm surprised that you didn't come across a discussion of the diatoinic genus (as Boethius copied heavily from the Greek writers in his treatise). I haven't been able to find a full translation of Boethius myself. Plato's Timaeus is another good one to get.
Ok but one last thing ( :P)
can you please put the notes next to the thing of semi-tones.
Cos its kinda confusing looking at "Semitones away from root", going to the far right, looking at the examples, and then going back to look at the interval.
Thats the only thing! and it will be perfect!! :D
Alex,
no offence taken at all. :)
I've changed it, as you requested. Thanks for the input.
