How do I play G7sus? In 'Penny Lane' there's a progression from G7sus to G7 to G7sus to G7. Please help. I've tried the charts. I'm not sure what melody I'm looking for so I'd like to have the correct note according to the sheet music. I've found Gsus7 (GCDGCF) - is it the same thing? The charts start at '7 Suspended 2' - is this the same thing as G7Sus?
Many thanks.
PEACE!!
I thought it would be a G7sus4. Barre it as you would a G7:
(i.e. barre the third fret with your index finger, place your middle finger on the third string fourth fret and your ring finger on the fifth string fifth fret) This is the G7. Now hold that shape and add the pinky to the third string on the fifth fret. That's the G7sus4. And you can switch between the chords simply by raising the pinky or adding it.
I hope that made sense.

3x343x - G7
3x353x - G7sus4
And 3x323x -- G7sus2 (among other fingerings, but in keeping with Argus')

So far I have x1101x for Cm7 - xx1010 for Am7b5 -xx1113 for Abmaj7 but it somehow doesn't sound right. It seems awkward. Any suggestions for a better way?
PEACE!!
x3534x - Cm7
5x554x - Am7b5
4x554x - Abmaj7
Couldn't you do:
320001 - G7
3x0011 - G7sus4

Wouldn't G7 have a major 3rd AND a major 7th? Otherwise it would be dominant, right?
Mike
G7 is dominant (1-3-5-b7). Gmaj7 is the one with a major 7th (1-3-5-7).

And don't forget your key signature - Gmaj7 would be the 7th of the Tonic in the key of G Major

...or the 7th of the sub-dominant in D.
But we already knew that, didn't we?
Subdominant - that's the word I couldn't think of earlier.

Or you could say that Gmaj7 is the 7th of the root of the key of G major. But that would be redundant, wouldn't it?
Now I have to study what is a subdominant. ???

Redundant? Only if you consider this:
Gmaj7 would be the 7th of the Tonic in the key of G Major
