I've got a bit of cash sitting around doing nothing and now I'm getting close to 50, I don't seem to be going out much lately and spending money like in my younger years so money seems to be going up these days rather than dwindling away at a rockets pace. So to the point, I've got around $2,000 spare to splash out on a guitar. I've got a nice acoustic guitar which I started out playing on but have recently been having a play on my nephews electric and am quite keen to make the switch as I much prefer the sound. It's a lot to spend when you are a relative novice pushing 50 but I don't really care. It's proving a good hobby and keeps me entertained rather than rotting in front of the TV. I'm keen on getting a 60's Jazzmaster if I can afford it so was wondering if anyone know's a good place to shop online for one? Thanks, Kim.

I wasn't familiar with the re-issue concept until I started doing a bit of research. It looks like I can get an 65' American vintage reissue for around the $2,000 dollar mark, hardly used so in very good condition still, about 2 years old, if that. You get the vintage fender jazzmaster feel but with additional features to enhance the performance. There's that one and a few others at a used for sale website that I've found based in the US. The one I'm considering is a buy it now, rather than an auction. Looking at the cost brand new, I'd be saving a few hundred bucks but not sure that's worth it when I may as well buy one new. Going to message the seller for a few more pics and details.

Didn't end up going for that one in the end. Been searching some more the last few weeks. Any suggestions on where/what to but would be appreciated, thanks.
