I thought palm muting was the other way....you are putting the palm of your strumming hand on the strings. I was talking about killing the sound with the fretting hand, and then strumming normally.

Sorry about that... I'm a lefty, you see. So that would be MY left hand :mrgreen:
But I believe it has been discussed in this thread about muting with both hands. I don't remember if it has been discussed in the same technique that you describe, but that's a grat way for addign a percussive element to your playing. It sounds cool with a wah pedal too.
