Well, I know a guy who bought one of these guitars on a whim, and I was wondering what you guys think of it, if anything. They're usually featured ona late-night infomercial.
I've seen that infomercial and read the reviews over on Harmony Central. It's not good.

The thing that worries me is that people will buy one, most probably get frustrated and not want to play. Not because of their ability to learn, but rather the instrument they're learning with.
Word on the street: crap.

I can't see the reviews on Harmony Central.
Would you guys buy one for $80 over a Kay acoustic for the same price?
We had a thread on here some time ago about estaban guitars and the general opiniion was that they are not worthy of the name guitar.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

You need to click on one of the models. I think the burswood guitar has some classic reviews. Guitars ending up as birdhouses and the like.
Regarding Kay guitars, if it's a used Kay that you found at a pawn shop it might be worth it. If it's brand new, well I don't think you can find any decent guitar for under $150.00. just my opinion.

Well, I know where I can get some Kay's for $80. I've played it, and I like the sound of it. It's kind of small, however. I don't think that really matters all that much, but what I'd really be worried about is durability.
Most agreed, DONT GET IT!!!! my friend stupidly bought it and the pickup broke like 3 days later. total junk.
The first time I heard a Beatles song was "Let It Be." Some little kid was singing along with it: "Let it pee, let it pee" and pretending he was taking a leak. Hey, that's what happened, OK?-some guy
When I read this I literally laughed out loud.
"The body must be made of Balsa wood, because if you just brush it against anything harder than mashed potatoes you will get a dent or the finish will come off."

O Esteban forgive them. For they no not what they are saying. Don't you know how Esteban was like, a famous guitarist that lost his ability to play because of an accident and miraculously was able to work his way back to stardom?! It's either a heartwarming story or a poor excuse for bad technique. Anyway, concert sales were going so well that he thought he'd share the gift of music with the rest of the world. I'd never personally heard of Esteban until the infomercial. Which of course means nothing as there are many exceptional guitarists that I've nver heard of but. You'd think that a multi gold and platinum artist would be well known among guitarists.
By the way, if you live in western Canada and you are interested in this fine instrument, you'll be glad to know that it will soon be available at a popular drug/department store for $99. Y'know the one that does it better than anyone? I tell ya. That just reaks of quality. I should mention that it's not actually the Esteban guitar. It is made in the same factory though. Using the same fine manufacturing and materials.
Well, Senor Esteban, if your sword is anything like your guitar, I'll have very little to worry about, won't I?
