haha, it seems this has really gone off on a 'Johnson' subject. Well, for starters, this is my first Johnson EVER. I'm quite female, thank you very much. ;p
And yes, Ricochet, I did get an amp with it. It's a Harley Benton 20G. And it's doing its job. :D For now, anyway. The one thing that sucks though is that I'm moving next month back to Canada and the electricity there is different than here in Hungary so I'll have to get a converter or whatever those are called. But yea, I might get a whole new amp instead, I'm not sure.
Also, I have to leave my amp here when I leave. :( It's gonna be shipped with the rest of our stuff so I won't have it again for a couple of months. However, I'll probably be living at my grand-parents' place and they wouldn't appreciate the amp very much anyway. Still, I'm gonna miss it. :(
However, I'm really glad Johnsons are good guitars, at least for beginners! The salesman assured me that it was good but I figured he might just be wanting to sell his stuff, no matter what.
As for setting up the guitar and placing 10 gauge strings...that's already been done. :D I'm extremely pissed with myself though: this morning, I figured I'd change the strings to the new gauge ones and I actually broke two of them!! And not the little ones but the low E and A ones! How I managed that, I have no idea. It's not the first time I strung a guitar. Pf, fortunately, I had kept the others...
Anyway, now, I have to go get dressed and get some food...considering the fact that my new guitar was much more important than anything else, this morning. :)
Darker? Then you have the Solara Standard model.
That's nice too, looks like a tobacco sunburst. Very nice.
Congrats, you will get some real Rock tones with those humbuckers pickups.
Merry Christmas
Wes
Actually, it's not like that either. Mine isn't so reddish. Wait, I'll be right back...gonna take a pic. :D
EDIT: Here it is. Sorry for the crappy quality. I had to take it with my webcam. But you can see that it's not quite so reddish.
Good looking johnson puke - inlays in the neck and everything. cool!
...only thing I know how to do is to keep on keepin' on...

So that's what her Johnson looks like. :ducking:
I don't think they get much closer to a true LP without paying big bucks.
Enjoy your new guitar. :D
And welcome back to North America. (when appropriate. )

Hey Puke, maybe you could get one of those headphone amp thingies like: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/home/navigation?d=tp&q=headphone+amp&r=&src ="00630"
for when you're at the GP's. I'm all acoustic myself, so no first-hand info here, but sure looks cool. Nice axe, BTW :)

That is a very nice looking one, Puke!
I think the suggestion of a little headphone amp is a most excellent one.

That one you got is called the Cherry Sunburst.

I checked out the headphone amp link and it's definitely a great idea! I will be sure to check it out in a shop as soon as I can. :D Thanks for the suggestion!
As for the guitar, it's definitely good-looking. Like guitar, like owner. :)
I figured that went without saying. :D
