Got the SX LP copy today!

AWESOME!!!!! I got up and walked out to the kitchen and there it was. Suddenly my hangover went away...It came from Rondo music very well packaged. Two boxes and the guitar itself was wrapped in two layers of padded plastic. The strings were covered in brown paper. It took me probably ten minutes to get the guitar out, but I was being very, very careful.The guitar itself is a gorgeous black, so deep it looks like the wood itself grew that color. There is some glue residue on some of the frets, but a pick got that off no problem. I think the fretboard is rosewood, and looks really cool with the black. The tuners and knobs all feel solid, and the plug is nice and tight (I had read to watch for loose ones).I wiped it down, and tuned it up, and YAHOOOOO!!!! There is nothing like two humbuckers, baby! The sustain is surprising considering the guitar was $79. Better than my Godin SD, even. But man o man what a sound! I am sure that these are cheap pickups but I have never had an expensive guitar so I wouldn't know the difference. Switching between them gives surprisingly different tones, more range than I expected. There is a good deal of range on the knobs, too. I'm sure there is a name for that but I don't know what it is. I will say that these sound "raunchier" than the humbucker in my SD, like they aren't as sensitive or something, but that actually makes it sound like it rocks harder. Clean I can't tell much difference, but distorted the difference is noticable. The neck is pretty thin, thinner than my SD. Now I know what a "fast neck" is! I can slide up and down way easier on this guitar than my other. I am sure that there are even faster necks than this, but it suits me for now. It's nice to have options, huh? The frets are bigger than the ones on my SD, too. They aren't as smooth, but they aren't really rough, either. Cheaper metal on the SX is what I would guess. Duh, the whole guitar cost me $79. The nut is way thicker, too, as it must be plastic. The SD has a bone one.I'd say that this guitar is an AMAZING deal. I went to $99 guitar center and played one of their LP copies, and it only had one humbucker and it felt pretty cheap--too light, the neck was kind of loose. This thing is totally bomber. I can tell it isn't as nice as my Godin, but it seems as well made. The Godin has nicer material is all.I paid $300 for my Godin (got a bro deal), which is actually cheap for a guitar of that quality, and I would put this one up against any I have seen in that price range. An absolutely sick deal. I might get another one and leave it in the box so if this one breaks I'll have a spare. Or maybe two more, they are so cheap. If you can spare the cash, get one.Pics as soon as I get them developed. I'm not going anywhere for a while, gotta session the new toy!

I love my SX. I got the SX GG1 Supreme in blue and it's been nothing but good for me. i love the sound, and it is beautiful for an $150 guitar.
