And i don't want it to.I want to grow up
Mother to Son: "What do you want to when you grow up?"
Son: "When I grow up, I want to be a guitarist"
Mother: "Now, stop being silly, you know you can't do both"

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

Great post Nick and now I know I have made it.

However, I better keep my day job if I want to eat also...

Started playing 2 1/2 years ago at the age of 50. I've played too upwards of about 100 people. I had a gig last Sunday at a nursing home, we played for about 15 residents. It was one of my most enjoyable moments. I've never made a dime from playing. You can't put a price on the looks on those elderly folks faces, I've made it :!: :D

That won't last forever buddy. :)

And i don't want it to.I want to grow up ...REALLY :P

I'm 43, have been in the same job for 23 years (have 7 more to go before I switch jobs...), and still dont know what I want to do when I grow up, and proably never will. Dont be in a rush to grow up....thats what I tell my teenager all the time.

As far as making it with music, I only started playing recently, and I think I have made it already, cause I love it, regardless weather I ever make any money doing it or not....and surprisingly, its not just a hobby to me....its quite a bit more. Will I ever consider myself an expert? Doubt it....like someone else said, I will be a perpetual beginner because learning will never stop for me, and that's the part I am really digging.

I may grow old, but I'll never grow up.

.. I think you should start playing some of the songs you have for others to listen and you can get feedback. Maybe record some stuff and put on a website (like myspace.com) and also try them out at an open mic or two for some crowd reaction...
