So i went to the U2 concert in Philly last weekend. Amazing show, absoluitely amazing. I noticed a few interesting things about the Edge's choice of guitar that I thought I'd mention.
For 2 of the more "heavy" U2 songs, Love and Peace or Else and The Fly, The Edge was using a Line 6 Variax ACOUSTIC. On previous tours he had used a Les Paul for the Fly, and now he's rocking out the Line 6 (with custom Vertigo paint job). I just found it really cool that he was getting these really really awesome electric tones from what boils down to an acoustic modeler/guitar. My only complaint was that his solos on the Variax's sounded a little thinner than when he uses the LP.
Great show overall. The Edge was playing like a man possessed with some guitar demon. He's really my favorite guitarist.
Any thoughts on the Line 6 thing?
The one I played was at a Guitar Center hooked up to that Freaky Bose Amp And man it sounded great. Got an extra $1500 lying around so I can get one?

+1 with that. The sitar sounded sweet on the higher notes!
