slejhamer, I thought that was you on the Fender Forum...I saw the thread about the screws and your great decal! You did that on a laser printer correct?

Yep, that was me. Laser printer with inkjet paper. Don't know why, but it worked. :D

I got to ask: How'd you make your own custom headstock decal, material wise? What company?

I just bought some clear waterslide decal paper for inkjets, and some clear acrylic spray to coat it. You can get the paper at a hobby shop, but I got mine on ebay from a guy that sells single sheets. Don't know the brand, but it may have been THIS ONE as the print instructions are word-for-word the same.

As Mike mentioned, I used a laser printer - I had trouble getting deep black with the inkjet (it came out medium gray on this paper) but no trouble at all with the laser. There is also decal paper for laser jets but it costs twice as much.

there are a lot of things to look around mike's house if you observe a bit more.things i found interesting-

1.the pots of plants around , they look nice
2.the agile lp looks extremly old and worn out compared to the new squier
3.in the first picture , alongside with the behringer amp i can see some wine (or whisky are they??) which tells about mike.......Twisted Evil

had a bash after getting the newbies mike Laughing ?

I just put a set of Dean Markley Blue Steel .10's on the Squier '51 to replace the crappy Fender .09's that it came with. What a difference! It sound like a whole new guitar (Oh wait.....it IS a new guitar!!! 8) ). I also lowered the action a bit so it plays like butta!

I posted a question about this in the Maintainance section if anyone can offer help.

Thanks

I have them on all my guitars and they are fine. I don't know where you heard that. These are the best strings I have ever used in the sort time I have been playing.

Guess just some bad critics then. Maybe I have been adding to that bad wrap. Oh I was wondering with the bridge humbucker, does it have a good hard rock tone with some of your VAMP settings?

Heavier strings make a nice improvement for this guitar. I like the pure nickel GHS strings, which take off some of the bright edginess. The 9s it came with are the worst strings in the world. (I saw a Squier thinline Tele with the same lousy 9s - total garbage. Made me hate that guitar, LOL, though I'm sure with 10s or 11s it would be sweet.)
