Greybeard, the serial number on my Squiers all start with "I". I've heard that a lot of Squiers are made by Samick. Is this the case with mine??
I don't know if you found out the answer, but the I is most likely for Indonesia. It's probably followed by a C for Cort, also a Korean company (Cor-Tek). Cort is smaller than Samick - they only make around 25% of the guitars in the world ... :)
