Christmas is coming up. Since I just got my dream Strat, I'm thinking:
Hubby doesn't understand why anyone would "need" more than one guitar (I now have 5, not counting basses), but I know you all do. I think I'm being very reasonable (price-wise). Don't you???

That LP is killer, musica23.

I think so, too, bish. But I've yet to so much as pick up a LP, let alone play one. And the Gretsch (also never touched by me) gets great reviews on playability (esp. for smaller fingers/hands). Plus...it's about 1/2 the cost unless you include the case, which I would get. Bottom line: I'll be very lucky to get either. My hubby says it's over for a while with guitars and such. But Christmas is almost here...
Without having played either guitar, I'm leaning heavily toward the Gretsch. Based on looks only, the LP wins hands down. Looks aren't everything. Right??? :)

LOL, well looks certainly don't hurt in my book.
Look what looks did to me.
Then I decide to purchase one of these:
and along with it came one of these....
HELP!!!!! Does the GAS ever end?
Musica, if you want a really nice inexpensive LP...I have one for sale in the Swap thread. It's an EPI but quality, price, looks and playability are all there. And the case, too.

You're right, bish. Looks are everything.
Quite a beautiful trio you have there. I love that PRS. And the Schecter. And the Squire. LOL.
I have a Schecter CSH-1 that I think is beautiful. I've gotta take some pics one day here soon and show off my guys!
Not sure about your LP, bish, but nothing personal. I doubt that I'll get anything (in the way of a guitar). But thanks for letting me know.
It's always something (or a few "somethings"), it seems. I know I'm in the right place here. Unless I wanted to break my addiction, that is!

Ha sounds like you are as picky as me.
NP on the LP, M23. I like it well enough if it doesn't sell, it'll just get played.
Now that you've hinted of your own Schecter, you seriously owe pictures.
I'm not sure what you are talking about with the addiction comment tho. What addiction? This is normal behavior. ...Isn't it? :D

Really??? And my hubby's been calling it "an addiction" all this time. Maybe he's the one who needs help. Financially, at least.

OK ya got me on the finances. Touche.
Well a couple things come to mind. If the strain of guitar assest acceleration is causing a rift at home, trade in Hubby1 on a more flexible used one. Might want to use the search criteria for "deep pockets".
Otherwise do like me, go for quantity over quality. Eventually that tide shifts and you get the good stuff.

I've been looking at your LP and GASing :-). But, I came to the realization that I don't play the three guitars I already own enough, so I've been resisting it (along with with the '51 and the Squier Tele Standard.) But this thread and the '51 thread are making it difficult :(

Bish,
have to say that Schecter is a beauty!
"It's all about stickin it to the man!"
It's a long way to the top if you want to rock n roll!
Thanks, cnev. I am growing very fond of Schecter guitars in general. If it comes down to it, I'd probaby only own Schecters and PRS's.
vink, that LP is a really nice guitar, as well. I am not urgently seeking it a new home but it looks and plays great for being that low cost of a guitar. The finish is perfect, the hardware and electronics are perfect. The case is brand new. I'm surprised it hasn't sold but am not sad either. :D

I was at GC at lunch today. This was the second time i have played this guitar, and it's officially GAS now. I give you an Ibanez EP9 Steve Vai signature acoustic. Solid Engleman spruce top. Solid mahogany back and sides. It plays almost like an electric, incredible feel. Sounds great unplugged, but you hook this baby up to an acoustic amp and she literally sings!
Allright:
Dag-Nabbit... Now ya all got me going.. LOL
I've always wanted a "Duesenberg"
So here's my Pick
WHEW!! ok ready Breathe....and Hold it...... Unmmph!!
Whhhheeeww! Ahhhh
