and come up with cool stuff 8)

Now that's what I'm talking about. :D :D :D

Jason, knock'm dead. You'll stand your ground and gain some.

As a drummer, bring on the good guitar jams. I'll keep you going. So will they! You'll absolutely have a blast. (and thanks for letting me jack your thread a little. Sorry man. )

Well gang, it was a blast! He was pretty much open for anything, so I ended up showing him a little ditty I've been playing around with in F. He programmed a Roland drum machine with a cool beat, hopped on the keyboard, my buddy played a the lead, while I strummed my rhythm. A little later a buddy of his showed up and joined us on the drums. All we were missing was a bass! Sounded great and everyone had a great time. I was completely silly for even thinking of not going. So, take it from me, if anyone is ever in a similar situation, GO! Don't even think twice. :)

Hopefully he'll have us over again.

Jason

Way to go! Glad you had a great time. Are you guys going to jam again?

Bish- Hey, I apologize if I insulted drummers, even though we insult our drummer all the time. :D And I certainly didn't mean to imply that drummers are only there to keep time. Man, I am always tellin' my drummer to KICK A$$ on certain parts of songs. The drummer can add intensity and excitement like nobody else, they can bring it down mellow too. I was just complaining that many drummers seem to speed up and slow down a lot. But I agree, nobody keeps perfect time, I play along with a metronome at home and find myself getting off time often. But I think when a drummer does it, it seems more obvious.

Thanks everyone!!

I forgot to mention that there were a couple of times where I felt a little embarrassed. I was looking for another chord to fill in a section and we all decided C was a good one. Me, not knowing my fret board as well as I should, started messing around trying to find it (I was looking for a better location than the basic open C). Anyway, both my jam buddy and I were messing around and B (the guy we were visiting) showed me where one was. He's a drummer (no offense Bish :)) and knows the fret board better than I do! I just laughed and said thanks! :)

I believe we will jam again. He said several times as we were packing up that he'd love to jam again.

And it really doesn't get a whole lot better than that!!!

Ha, no problem, Jason. I, too, know where a couple C chords are on the fretboard so if you ever need help.

Thanks, Wes. Very much appreciated. Metronomes and I are never in the same room together while either is working. They don't keep time very well. I'm constantly resetting it. Gotta be power fluctuations. That's it...yeah power problems.

As far as offending drummers, I'm just here to keep the drummer name from getting too soiled. What a battle so far.

And for the record, I do drink milk...lot's of it. :D

If I drank any more, I'd feel like I should own a Gateway computer but that'll NEVER happen.

I bet you're glad you went now eh? A friend of mine was a studio session musician in London in the 60's and although he is now involved in motorsport he still has friends in the music circles over here in the UK. Last year he asked me to go and jam with his friend who is KK Downing (Judas Priest), I declined as I have only played in my home studio for fun. Now I really really really regret it. I know that they wouldn't have criticised me as they have been at the same level.
Cheers

Phil
