After a few trips to GC, talking about pedal options, trading guitars, etc. I finally decided to get a different amp. They were only going to be able to give around $100 in trade for my Mexican Strat, so I wouldn't have been able to get something in the same value range with the trade-in and the money I had to put with it. Anyway, when I called to ask about an Epi VJ combo, they said they didn't have it in stock but could order it for me. I decided to do that and went in to talk to them. Well, they ended up giving me a sweet deal on the EPI VJ head and cabinet. I asked them to play a Strat similar to mine through it and just couldn't pass it up. Besides, if I decide later that I don't want it, I have 30 days to return it.

Congrats! I just recieved my Epi Valve Junior combo in the mail and I am quite happy with it, I play my cheap guitars through it and even those sound nice. Right now I haven't done too much playing because I'm in the process of installing better pickups but I'm sure I will be quite busy playing after I'm done all of that work.

Cool Steve-O! let us know what you think about the combo. I think the way I went was possibly overkill, but as I said, it was too good a deal to pass up.

I have the Epi VJ head & run it through a 1x12 cab I made with a speaker out of a Fender practice amp I had. I'm interested to hear if there's much difference in sound with the new Epi speaker cab. Congrats on the purchase, I'm sure you'll enjoy it! 8)

I just ordered a EVJ cabinet for my head that I have had since they came out. I can't wait to hear if it sounds better than my home made cab. I think it is a sweet amp! 8)
