I know certain things to look for in an acoustic and electric guitars. But what are some high quality traits that resonators have. I am in the market for one for slide usage and have no idea what to look for.
Thanks guys!
GN's resident learning sponge, show me a little and I will soak it up.
What I have learned in my search for a resonator is that the cones are probably the most important thing. See this thread....... http://forums.guitarnoise.com/viewtopic.php?t=24838&highlight=resonator Ricochet is probably the one to answer your question! I would start with the above thread, and, if that doesn't answer your question..... find Ricochet!!!! :D

Can't write much now, I've got to go back to work. I will point out that there's pretty much endless discussion of these things on the forum at http://bigroadblues.com/ and at least one well known reso luthier hangs out there as well as lots of players.
You'll find some really experienced guys in the "Slide and Alternate Tunings" forum here.
What reso you want depends on what you want to play and your budget, just as with electric guitars, flattop acoustics...
