Halp! How do I measure the string spacing on my bridge? I'm going to buy one of the "Gold Mexi Blocks" from here : http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/gbridge_genuinefenderstrattrem.htm , but I don't know how to measure my current bridge. When I measure from the center of the first hole to the center of the last it's 2 1/16", but when I go from the edge of the first hole to the edge of the second it's 2 3/16". this is probably a stupid question, but can anyone help me out here? :S. The bridge I have now is off a Squier fat strat (affinity), which is chinese, I believe.
Thanks
Stick with centre to centre.
If you want to measure from edge to edge, you have to measure the same edges - edge uppermost on low E to edge uppermost on high e. Measuring high edge on low E to low edge on high e will give the correct dimension plus 1 diameter of the string hole, which probably explains the 2 3/16 - the hole has a diameter of 2/16, I expect.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?
