I'm building a Tele from a kit with the control panel already wired up. The problem is that one of the POTs is missing a washer so i need to remove knob. So far all i've managed to do is pull out some of the wires and make a lot of scratch marks! What tool should i use (already tried scissors, elastic bands, kitchen sink :'() ???

There is usually a small set screw on the side of the knob that needs to be loosened first.
