Hi,

I'm about to wire up a custom guitar build that I've almost finished. I'm using two humbuckers which I want wired up to a volume pot and a two-way switch. The closest diagrams I've found use a three-way switch, but I want to use one of these...

Can anyone supply me with a wiring diagram or a link to where I can find one?

Thank you in advance.

PS. Forgot to mention; the switch will be used as a selector switch for the two HBs (sorry if that was already obvious).

I'm assuming that switch is a DPDT?

You can use it, but you won't be able to have both pickups active at once. Your choices will be bridge only or neck only.
A standard DPDT switch only has 2 positions (unless it's a center-off type, but that doesn't help here)

The 3 way switch used as a pickup selector is just that, a 3 position switch. It has 3 "on" positions.

Hi,

Yes, this is a DPDT switch. I'm not worried about limiting my pickup selection to just one active pickup at a time, I rarely move from the bridge pup anyway.

I'm just not sure how to wire it up... I've replaced pickups and jacks before, but I'm wiring this in from scratch and I'm lost.

Many thanks

In that case, it's dead easy. And your switch is twice what you need, but that's fine.

Something like this would work. Black lines are signal wires, green are ground/common/return

Thanks for the diagram. I have a volume pot in there too, but I could probably work that bit out from other diagrams - it was mainly the DPDT switch that I was stuck on.

Thank you

If you have 1 volume, then it goes between the switch and the jack.
if you have 2 volume controls, then they go between the pickups and the switch.

same with tone (if any) controls
