This is a very rough cover, but was wondering on an opinion on the singing really (and the simplified playing - please excuse the slight buzzing, been a long day and I was losing strength lol).

Cheers. :)

Yashi: sounds good. I dont personally care it ain't note for note, the harmony and rhythm is there and thats what counts. Props on the vocals, too, btw. It's obvious restrained a bit but your voice has pleasant 'characteristics' to it, would love to hear you sing a bit more opened up.

Pearl: play it in an open key and you can play practically all chords of the verse in open position. Tag on the capo and it'll sound exactly as on the record without the freaky fingerings you're otherwise supposed to do. :D

Like Arjen says (and also my philosophy). You don't have to play it note for note...infact its usually better if you don't :D
Good vox, just don,t restrain your self so much :D

Thanks for the feedback everyone. :)

Yes I shall try and unrestrain myself a bit more! Bit of a learning curve this singing lark . . .

Good job, the singing was fine...yea you were alittle restrained but man you're doing great, I don't even attempt to sing and play at the same time, keep it up you're already well on your way to being a good player for the shorttime you've been at it.

Nice to hear this when you have the whole thing down. I messed around with this song awhile ago but haven't played it in a long time, I'll have to dig it out somewhere.

Thanks mate.

Yeah, I'm still working out the other chords for the song. Accurate chords seem to be few and far between for this song so I'm finding I have to work them out instead! I don't think I could hope to play the "extra trimmings" that John actually plays between all the chords either.

I shall see, I am still trying to work out where my voice works! I find that verse relatively easy to sing compared with some stuff, but the chorus is a bit of a different story so we'll have to see!

All 4 wisdom teeth come out 8am saturday :( so I think they'll be no singing for a week or so.

You never know might add a new tone to your voice. I have a copy of the song in a Hal Leonard book. I doubt it's exactly like the original but it sounds pretty good. If I can find it I'll make a copy and send it to you. See how it compares to what you've got.

Ouch! Wailing yes, singing no.

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.

Cheers cnev. :)

Wailing yes possibly. I'm hoping to get some serious guitar time down while I recover though! I've been that pre-occupied up with singing / playing of late I think I'm neglecting just simply playing the guitar!

Back home from hospital now. In rather a lot of pain unfortunately and I can hardly open my mouth at all! This should hopefully pass in a week or so though!
My guitar playing seems to be on form though. :D
