guitarists use a small 1 X 12 combo and mic it into the PA.
This is ultimately long term what I want to do. As for amps my thought was to get the amp you stated (Crate V16 Palomino Tube Amp ) and use the multi effects I mentioned. I still think it wouldnt be a bad idea to get some individual pedals to mess around with.
Thanks Wes and others. I think you've all steered me towards some good decisions. Now if Sept would hurry and get here.

One reason I picked the Crate was because of your interest in the Vox 30 watt. So, I thought maybe this was your budget. But if you can spend a little more there are many nice amps.
I have already mentioned the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and Peavey Classic 30. These are two of the most popular gigging amps in the world. But also look at the Traynors, and the new Epiphone 30 watt amp too.
These are just a few amps to consider. But all of these are designed to be gigging amps, and all have very favorable reviews.

MAN YOU ARE JUST LIKE I WAS (TILL LAST WEEK) TRY THIS.
LOOK UP THE FENDER BLUES JUNIOR(15W) OR DELUX (40W) NOW ITS A REISSUE BUT IT IS TRUE "TUBE" AND ITS TONE IS AWESOME.
I BOUGHT A HOT ROD DELUXE LAST WEEK BECAUSE I PLAY MOSTLEY COUNTRY AND THE HOT ROD HAS MORE PUNCH. THE BLUES IS DIRTY THOUGH TALK ABOUT BLUES, YOU CAN GET FROM CLEAN CLEAN TO IN UR FACE BLUES TUBE SCREAMER.
I SUGGEST THIS SETUP
FENDER BLUES DELUX => MXR DYNA COMP => BOSS BLUES DRIVER=> BOSS SUPER CHORUS.... AND YOUR CHOICE OF WAH, PHASER, AND/OR DELAY.... (I SUGGEST BOSS'S DD6 DIGITAL DELAY, IT HAS TAP TEMPO).
A VOLUME PEDAL IF YOUR LIKE ME I USED THE HELL OUT OF MY VOLUME FOR CONTROL.
