Welcome to GuitarNoise.
So you own one of those Crate Solid State POS amps? I've heard of those, how do you like it?
Just being a smart-a$$, but I had to laugh when I looked at your diagram. :D
Those POS amps must be pretty good, lots of folks seem to own them.

You could use a plug that has a switch built into it , that would disconnect the or connect when a plug was inserted to it.
