thanks, im really excited. i was trying to stay away from presets but ill tryem out, (with most electronics ive known using them on auto wasnt too good) And i got a B-stock(scratch and dent) version so no box or manual. As for the websites, i tried them both, and it looks like alot of useful info, so thanks alot banre. And Vink, i like tweed, black, and AC30 the best, i also like 70s brit. They should cover what i play, i dont play metal at all. Muchos gracias everybody! ~Mike

As ususal, the presets are not perfect, but they are a good starting point... actually, the amp side is quite good, but you may not like the default effect associated with each preset.

If your Vox did not come with a channel selector pedal (great if it did), then look at getting a pedal to change the channels and turn on/off the effects. That will really help you control the amp better.

It is a small world for metal fanatics. I welcome you fellow musicians, especially the metalheads!

And if you do want to buy one, you do NOT have to buy the Vox branded one. Any two button stereo cable pedal will work.

That's good to know .. the Vox one is a little pricey. Around $30 or so, IIRC. Too late for me since I already bought it. Have you actually tested this?

I do second the idea that you should get such a pedal when you can, it makes the amp a lot more flexible in terms of how you can use it as you are playing.

Congrats on the Vox. For some reason, so far, they havn't convinced me that thier for me, but the thing about amps is it really depends on personal taste.

The firefly is all solid state if i remember correctly, so the hybrid Vox will give you some of the perks of the world of tube. I personally Own the Epi Valve Special, with I feel is better than the junior because it gives you the ability to control your gain, master, eq, and reverb seperatly. I love the valve special to death.
