Leear
Hey, I didn't know that about effects, you taught me something. :D
It is such a funny problem. The first thing I would have done is simply swap the mic cables at the mixer. If after swapping mic cables and making no other changes you still only hear guitar #1, then you know that the problem is either the mic cable or the mic itself. Swap mics for an easy check (you know mic #1 works). Then swap mic cables. I've had a few mic cables go bad on me, someday I'm going to invest in one of those cable testers.
If you simply swap mic cables and now you can hear guitar #2 but cannot hear guitar #1, then the problem must be with the mixer. Doesn't mean anything is broke, but something is not set properly.
I am sure you will figure it out, let us know how it turns out next practice.
Good luck. :D

I tried swapping mic cables and he could still only hear the lead guitar. So, it's not the cable, mic or channel. That's why I was wondering about the frequency. The rhythm player likes to play kind of twangy (bright). I play a bit lower with a heavier sound.
We have another outside practice on Friday to get ready for an outside birthday party we will be doing a week from Saturday. If the drummer will bring his keyboard amp again, I'll give it another shot. It still really makes no sense as to why it didn't work.
The other thing I would like to try is turning up the FX to mon2, as Leear mentioned. I would normally keep the FX to both monitor channels turned all the way down, thinking that I want a clean signal going to the monitors.
Thanks again for all of the suggestions and help. I'll let you know if we get it figured out (or if the drummer decides he doesn't need the monitor and just leaves the lamp at home).
Regards,
Jim

normally you would keep FX to MON 2 all the way down. but if its turned up on the channel then the FX to MON2 is now controlling it... Its very strange. Just got to play with it.
