I've just got hold of plans to build short and long throw w bins.
Is it worth it?
Will I get more volume out of my system or just more throw? ???

Folded horns are great when you're trying to reach the back of an ampitheater with solid thumping bass. They can focus the energy much better than standard cabinets.
But if you are just trying to build a sub-woofer for a PA for small gigs in bars, don't do it. Everyone on the dance floor will feel their pant legs move, but they won't hear a thing, and it really messes up the mix.

Is there any difference between a Sub and a Short throw w bin crossed over at 250hz?
