So we've found a few things that are actually pretty good, and maybe stumbled upon it by accident..

when we put a TINY bit of pressure on the front of his hips, he will lower his hands, AND WALK!! No more holding things above his head and using his upper body for support....now to just harness this...maybe a weight belt....something to ask the physical therapist on Wednesday for sure!

But man is it back-breaking! LOL.

Those are really good news! Sometimes we find things by accident but the important is we have found them. Physical therapists are perfect for this kind of situations.

So yeah....great news for us in my son...bad news for the guitar playing...so I'm going to put some of my gear up for sale...recording gear, maybe a guitar....we'll see how things turn out. Sound kind of selfish, but the guitar was my only outlet for stress...time to find another outlet maybe?

I'm sorry to hear your son needs help, Joe, hope that works out well for all of you in the long run tho - much better to get him assistance while he's still young enough to benefit fully. I'm also sorry to hear you can't keep practicing during those two days. But I'd hold off on selling any gear for a while unless finances require it - maybe you could find a way to keep some practicing or playing going. Have you considered asking the school if the kids might enjoy a little music performance (maybe in a breaktime or something? I know young kids might not make the most attentive audience, but they could really benefit from it, you never know). Heck, even if you just get 5 minutes playing in every now and then in the evening, the stress relief aspect makes it worth keeping. You can always return to developing your skills on the instrument once you get more free time later.

Wishing the best for you and yours, hon.

He's doing fine though, he's as happy as can be, is actually cognitively on track, if not ahead of his age, but can't tell us, walk etc. There are some severe sensory issues that he has that is preventing all that. BUT, we are now going to be getting therapy for that 4 times a month, and physical therapy 4 times a month as well.

MY SON IS WALKING!!!!! Well kind of....he has to have a gait belt, and someone has to touch the tail of his shirt, but he's doing it all on his own....the tail of the shirt is confusing to me because it's not offering any support, it's just there.

I'm buying a gait belt in the next week......I tried a regular belt, but either he was too tired after the physical therapy or it doesn't work as well.....either way....this just proves that it was the best decision to pull him out of that pre-school. This wouldn't have happened. Video will follow.

Awesome news.
.the tail of the shirt is confusing to me because it's not offering any support, it's just there.

It may just be reminding him to make a certain correction to his balance.
Or it might be a "comfort blanket" kinda thing.

Whatever works. He'll be running faster than you before you know it.

He already can LOL.

We were able to find the belt they used online for $18 under a different name....so whatever, saved $30, was under the name 3-handle walking belt instead of walking belt or gait belt LOL.

So hopefully it will be coming....this has been a very exciting week for sure!
