Just got back from my vacation in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Had a great time with the kids. We spent a day at the newly opened Hard Rock Park. As you would expect from the folks at Hard Rock, the place was awesome. Very well done. Everything exceeded my expectations. I would highly suggest a trip there. Proper dues paid to all of the major influences in rock. Beatles, Floyd, the Punk scene, Southern Rock, Heavy Metal, you name it... So, wherever you walk in the park, there is always a great song playing. There was always a live band playing in different areas of the park. You enter through the large golden gates of "Rock N Roll Heaven" where a constant mist coves the ground. Really cool. Will post pics asap. You stroll around looking at the various attractions, listening to music and then you see it. Led Zeppelin The Ride. 8) Let me try to state this properly. This is not only a ride. It's an experience. Should you need to wait in line, there are high def TVs placed all around. All playing classic footage of Zep concerts. The music is played over large, quality speaker system that provides excellent listening. This continues as you make your way to the ride. Before you get onto the ride, you enter a dark room. This room simulates a concert. There is a large screen that shows a live concert video of Whole Lotta Love. So you are effectively placed in an early 70s Zep concert. The walls are painted to resemble a concert crowd. Everything is timed perfectly. The song continues as you take your seat onto the roller coaster. Mid way through the song the ride starts. There are speakers built into the car so you can continue to listen to the songThe ride begins to ascend immediately. Keeping in time with the song, the ride begins to reach it's peak as soon as you hear Plant say â€œWay down inside, Woman, you needâ€¦bum, bumâ€¦..(now you're at the top) LOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEEEEâ€¦.. and you simultaneously hit a near 90 degree drop at 65 mph from 15 stories above the ground. All I can say is Holy Crap. I don't remember much after that. I passed out. :oops: Went back on the ride to see if I could regain my manlyhood but must admit, I'm not built for coasters anymore. My kids went back on the ride 6 more times. All in all, it was a great time. The Hard Rock was the biggest highlight. This is a must see for any guitarist.

Looks like a great vacation. I didn't know the Hard Rock had an amusement park. Looks like a definate place to visit! 8)
