I'm sure lil Landon will grow up and be a truly strong young man ...
Thoughts are still with you and yours ...
Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am
That's great news! He really has grown a lot, have fun bringing him home.
All my life I wanted to be somebody. Now I see I should have been more specific.
Just a quick update.
Landon has been home a week tonight and is doing as well as can be expected. It sure is inconvenient to have him connected to oxygen and a feeding tube, 24X7. That is going on indefinitely but we love him just the same.
I'll have more pictures after this week gets over.
My wife's father passed away Monday and we are having a service tonight. So this week has pretty much been a bad blur.
Updates will occur as I can find the time.

I'm sorry to hear about your father-in-law. My sympathies, especially to your wife.
But that's great news about Landon! He's come a long way!

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law. Hope Landon gets off the oxygen soon. Never a dull moment around your place, eh?

Yes I have!
But can't figure out if it's to a wise old man growing I am
or
(more likely) into a sci-fi fantasy regressing I am.
It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.
Thanks, guys.
Never a dull moment around your place, eh?
Isn't that the truth? Sheesh.
More updates soon.

Hi guys/gals. Thank you all for the sentiments!
Roy had just sent me an inquiry about Landon and I see it's been a while since I posted any updates.
For a short time things continued to go down hill for our family. Two weeks after my wifes' father passed away, her moms' current husband, Jim, succumbed to his illness and we were right back in the funeral home burying another relative. Two in two weeks is a little much. It's not a good thing to get on first name basis terms with your funeral director. Jim's funeral was really nice and I got to meet a lot more of his side of the family.
Landon is doing awesome. I still can't quite come to terms with where he is in relation to his age group, though. I guess I've get a mindset that he was born in March (like he should have been). His actual birthdate is November 24th, 2007. Which makes him almost 9 months old.
In the case of the March birthdate he seems normal other than the continuous oxygen supply he has strapped to his face. He also gets a variety of meds with his bottles. He used to be tube fed but we've graduated to full bottles now and normal feeding times. He's even having solid foods.
He's on track in motor skills to his age group of 5 months but being he's really a 9 monther he's way underdeveloped and far behind a normal 9 month old infant. He's very aware of his surroundings and the people who like to tickle him most. He carries on like he's got something to say all the time. He grabs at things, has very funny belly laughs and in general is a very happy kid.
The worse case scenerio is Landon will have lung problems all his life. He might also grow out of it since children continue to renew lung tissue until about 8 years old. But his are very scarred and in not so good condition. He weezes a lot after we have some play time.
All in all, I'm very pleased with where he is and so are the nurses and doctors. I have pictures that I'll post as time permits.
I have a lot better pictures of Landon. This is the only one I had ready access to. It was taken around July 4th, 2008. Also note the feeding tube is no longer in place even though is shows in this picture. I think he's had it removed for almost a month. Of course he took it out himself the last few times....the little punk!
I'll try to keep up to date better. With all the family ruckus and my band playing almost every weekend, I hardly have time to spend at that computer.
I hope everyone is well.

Thanks for the update.
He really looks good imo.
i wouldn't put too much stock in the progress in comparison to certain ages versus other kids stuff.
