Songwriter MeetUp

I have been considering starting up a MeetUp group in my area for songwriters. My thinking is that it would be similar to our Sunday Songwriters Forum here on GN except that we would meet twice a month in my house, a library, or some place that is appropriate. We'd give out an assignment, or possibly I'd do that online and the songwriters would need to have the song ready when they showed up at the meet. Maybe we could get a deal with Borders or the library to perform them occasionally, rent out the amphitheatre here in Norman or something. Obviously, all those decisions are based on quality and what kind of interest there would be.Anyway, I have never done such a thing and I am interested in any suggestions that might make something like this succeed. How to make it fun. How to determine the right size location. Things that I am not thinking about. Why it wont work. Whatever. I just need to brain storm a bit before I create the group because I think there will be a great interest in this. There are quite a few singer/songwriter types just in Norman and I imagine I can get some interest from OKC as well.Thanks in advance for your suggestions.Jim
