Okay - so how 'bout a Squire 51 team? Call it Funk '51.

I spoke to Gnease about this, and even though he was joking he said he'd join in, and Bish agreed to put it together so ... any other '51 owners up for it?

I'd like the 2nd spot, if that's okay.

3rd for me, please -- now which '51 will sound funkier, black or burst?

And on second thought, let's call it Funk 451

I think sunbursts have historically been funkier ;)

I'd be up for a part of the Funk 451 team ...

Cool! Jason do you want the opening or closing slot?

Funk 451:
..0-----------45
.45---------125 = Slejhamer
125--------204 = Gnease
204--------END

So, confirming that it's official, the ladies team is:

Margaret
ElektraBlue
PearlTheCat
PRBlack

(Not necessarily playing in that order.)

If any more females want to join up, we can form a second women's team or I'd gladly give up my spot.

Margaret

Slej, I suppose I'll take the opening slot.

Is it just me, or is this backing track a little more "busy" than they usually are?

No, that's my problem as well. All parts I come up with are more backing then lead. Heck, the best thing so far has been some rhythm organ, a far cry from a kick ass solo that seems required. But don't let that bother you, if you haven't already joined then do so now. :D

Alright then, Funk451 so far:

..0-----------45 = Crank-N-Jam
.45---------125 = Slejhamer
125--------204 = Gnease
204--------END = could be you!

I've come up with a good riff, but 40 seconds of 1 riff wouldn't be very inventive.

So I'm still working on it. It has quite a different sound to the majortiy of funk I've heard though.

Clazon, Arjen: It is quite a busy piece, really full, but I think anything you come up with will be great. I'm thinking this is not your typical 'hard funk' though, like uh...Brick House or something. To me it seems more along the lines of 'funky rock' or a funky fusion type thing.

That's the way I treated it, though I could be wrong. I just played a lead over it thinking that was what was needed. On the other hand...I don't think anything any of us does, would be 'wrong' necessarily.

Just have fun with it I think. :)

Okay, someone mentioned pantyhose earlier - is this...the makeup thing? ;)

Or...is it like JCIS - Just Come In Swingin'!

Clazon: I just finished my piece, it's basically the same riff consisting of three notes with some minor variations. If it's a nice riff fourty seconds ain't no problem at all.

Demo: I hear you. I wouldn't know what kind of funk it is and I have even less of a clue as to what I should call my part. Who cares as long as it sounds decent enough. :D
