I'll pull your finger, TR.

You don't want to be responsible for the collapse of the Korean economy, do you?

C'mon! Ya can't blame the guy. :D I try to avoid going to GC. Even if I need strings. It all starts innocently enough. You walk in, determined to head sraight to the counter where they keep the strings, then you glance at the guitar section and your body starts to turn in that direction. It pulls you in. You NEED to go over and look at the new David Gilmour strats or play a few new acoustics. Next thing ya know you are trying to come up with reasons why you need this guitar.

Tell me about it. I went to Sam Ash Saturday to buy an XLR cable and I ended up having to wipe the drool off one of these...

Luckily, my dog was in the car and she had an appointment at the groomer's else I would have played it long enough to convince myself to buy it. Now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to buy myself one for Christmas.

That's sweet! Good luck with that one. If I were not so paranoid about the economy, my job, my bank, my 101k, global financial melt down, mass hysteria .... I'd be too tempted. Especially around the holidays.

Well, I probably will cave on the Christmas present thing, but I will go for someting I can and will actually use I think. That or I will trade one or more guitars to get a more desirable one. I am serious about the Epiphone though. My Gibsons are just a mere Special and Studio but the Epiphone Les Paul I have is that good. It is the one I like best. Go figure. :? Except for my Agile that is a GoldTop, all my Les Pauls are black. Maybe this is why I had the green gas. (Keep in mind we are not talking double cuts here, those are a yellow and amber with flame and quilt top respectively and not actually Les Pauls but rather a Kramer Standard Pro made by Gibson and a Hamer) I just faced the fact that (A) I would not play the Epiphone or (B) I would not play the new one. The Epiphone has upset my delicate guitar rotation that I have worked so hard over the years to develope. I declare that this type of axe be given the monicer of "Gas Stopper"!

I don't know if "101k" was a typo or intentional, but it cracked me up. Last time I looked, my 401k had become a 101k.

Nope. Purely intentional. They sent me a statement a few weeks back. I nearly had a heart attack.

Well, with our last contract our old fashioned retirement plan (pay you X amount of dollars til you die no matter what) was converted to a 301K this last contract. I need to pick the type of investment I want. High risk, medium, low or fixed interest. Now I got 29 years in old plan, but still, heavy stuff which route to go. Safe seems right with the economy but think about it. Stock is at bargain basement prices. I can get a lot for my money and if things rebound ..... oh the decisions. I liked it better when I was a sheep.

Yep. I'm not one to watch those things closely. Some people look at it every day. I just happen to open the mail when the sent the statement. I've not changed anything cuz don't know what to do. Just keeping my head down and trying to avoid the bullets. Yesterday I just heard about lay offs. Oh great.
