Read the reviews , but you don't need a pinch of salt to take them.

Just put them in the trash can and go to the guitar centre to find out what you are looking for in an instrument.

lol

With those HC reviews, what I do is I geenrally read all of them about something that I want to get a feel of any common problems that come up. For example, a played a Line 6 amp before, and thought it sounded pretty good. Then I found out that I could get a gig-worthy amp for a low price from Line 6, so I checked out the HC rebiews. WHat I found there is that most of the posts complained about how the amp suddenly started to smoke during use, and since this was present in most of the reviews, I decided not to consider that amp anymore. IMO, thats how HC reviews should be sued not like, "this guy give it all 10s, must be best guitar ever!!"

I read reviews about Fender standard stratocaster and fender frontman 25 R amp.

What i got about the fender strat was that it is a crap guitar and the pups are horrible and hum a lot.(they are saying this for a 370 $ industry standard)

About the fender amp they said that the speaker needs to be replaced. Some said that its got no tone. Some said it sound good.

What to believe and what not ? Harmony central reviews can lead one in so many directions. It better to read them to gain some foresight into the future but basing a purchase (and esp an expensive one) alone on reviews shall be a too much.
