No one seems to know anything, they literally started shipping this past week or so. It seems like it's basically a set of humbuckers with different sized coil and a complex coil tapping system. I think you'd need to add another 3-way switch to switch between the single, p90, and humbucker sound, or if you want you can just add a push-pull tone knob to pick between 2 sounds.

The video on that page is pretty impressive. this vid talks about other ways you can set it up. The possibilities seem pretty endless  I wonder if there are any negative implications to having such vastly different coil sizes in a humbucker though.

Just because the coils look differently sized, doesn't mean they are or that is of predictable significance. P90s coils usually are shallow and wide, while Strat-type singles are narrow and deep. In order to buck hum effectively, the number turns x the inside area would have to be equivalent. I'm sure they got that figured.

In terms of affecting tone and timbre, I would wonder more about the extra magnets and offset geometries causing deviations from the "known and loved" characteristics in the various modes. Seymour Duncan is no slouch at pup design ... but not every product is great. The description uses the terms such "very usable" to describe the 'bucker PAF-like tones. That suggests compromise, which is to be expected. Of course not everything has to sound vintage to be good. The proof is in the real, live performannce.

I'm interested enough to get one just to fool around with it.
