I noticed that Frusciante's solos are never that hard on the album, but his live ones always seems so great. It's kind of weird that he would do that. I think he's pretty underrated as a guitarist.

Pearl Jam and I have it now, the new Chilis sounds so dull (again) from the songs I've heard, I don't know if I'll even bother. I have the Tool album, haven't really got into it yet.
together we stand, divided we fall..........
I have the downloaded copy of the Tool album. I find it weird hearing a new Tool song though, that hasn't happened in years. It's good but just hasn't caught my ear yet.
My sister picked up Pearl Jam for me yesterday, so I'll get it on monday when she comes out. I would have had it on Tuesday, but my friend couldn't get to the city at the last minute.

Not keen on Pearl Jam, don't really know Tool but what I've heard didn't make me want to go find out any more about them. Chili's got my vote as they are still good, but they're lacking compared to what they used to be. I'll try the new album out, but I'm in no real rush :/
Well, I've long since stopped being "excited" about a new album since the Guns'n'Roses debacle, but if I had to pick one it would be Pearl Jam.
I loved the 1st Tool album, but I've kinda distanced myself from the newer stuff. Can't really relate.
Never been much of a Peppers fan. A few tunes are cool, but overall they don't "do it" for me.
I've always liked Pearl Jam. Never LOVED them, but they certainly have been the one Seattle band that stood the test of time. I played Vitalogy about 500 times when it first came out.

I've never been a big Peppers fan also. I love Scar Tissue, and Otherside, as well as a couple others, but on the otherside, there are many songs by them that I don't care for.
As for Pearl Jam, I dearly love them. My screen name and avatar can atest to that. I recently got back into Vitalogy in the past few weeks, (I go in spurts of albums), it really is one of the best albums from the 90's.

Got the tool and PJ album. I actually got it on the way over too some hardcore tool fans house and had to listen to them bitch all night before really getting into it myself. Aaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnd, I like it. I only got it yesterday, but that's my first impression. And no, the thunder doesn't bother me.
PJ, I'm a little dissapointed. I was really hoping for either a passing return to their earlier stuff, or something that I could listen to and tell that they are growing. There are hints of this, but really, it's only in Vedders songs, and he only has like 3. I'm sure the album will grow on me, but I don't think it should have been The self titled album. Oh, well.
